Product Overview
A 256GB CFexpress 4.0 Type B card for professional photographers and videographers. PCIe Gen4 technology drives read speeds up to 3700 MB/s for rapid transfer and smooth high-resolution playback. Its family supports resolutions up to 12K, a future-ready reach for cutting-edge cameras. Storage and speed stay balanced here.
With 256GB of capacity, the card balances speed and storage across many shooting scenarios. A durable enclosure withstands drops up to 5 meters and resists bends up to 70 newtons. That ruggedness keeps your data safe in tough environments.

Design and Build Quality
Robust construction defines this card for professional use. It survives drops from up to 5 meters, which matters on location where accidents happen. Bending forces up to 70 newtons meet resistance too, adding protection against physical stress. Photographers in unpredictable conditions gain from that durability.
CFexpress Type B is the form factor, widely adopted in high-end cameras. Build feels solid, and the label states its specifications clearly. Capacity of 256GB is moderate. Physical resilience still makes it a reliable pick for travel and outdoor photography.
Performance in Everyday Use
Read speed up to 3700 MB/s is exceptional, letting large files offload to a computer fast. That helps when footage must move quickly between shoots. Minimum sustained write speed of 3100 MB/s supports high-bitrate video without dropped frames, even on long takes.
For video, the 256GB model meets VPG800 and VPG400, guaranteeing the minimum sustained write speeds for flawless capture. That covers 4K and some 8K recording scenarios. It does not meet the VPG1600 standard reserved for 1TB and larger capacities. Planning extreme high-bitrate formats? A higher-capacity card may suit better.
Who Should Buy It
- Long-duration 8K or 12K video recording where high capacity and VPG1600 are essential.
- 256GB capacity may be insufficient for large projects No VPG1600 support (only on 1TB and larger) May be overkill for casual photographers Requires a CFexpress Type B compatible camera

Alternatives Worth a Look
A top-tier performer for professionals who need fast read and write speeds, this SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO backs demanding shoots with a rugged build. The 256GB capacity may limit long recording sessions, and the absence of VPG1600 support means it is not tuned for the most extreme video requirements. Value speed and durability over capacity? This card is an excellent choice. For extended 8K or 12K workflows, step up to a larger capacity model.
